The Voice of Parents
The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the official voice of parents and guardians at your school.
All parents and guardians of students at Bayview Community School are automatically members of the PAC and entitled to attend meetings and vote
ADVOCACY
One of the PAC’s main roles is to provide a voice for parents at every level of the education system from the school administration to the provincial government.
COMMUNITY
The PAC organizes events and educational opportunities for families, actively encourages parent and guardian involvement in the school community, and supports initiatives that strengthen engagement. It facilitates clear and ongoing communication between home and school to promote cooperation in supporting student learning and well-being.
PURPOSE
The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) serves as a collaborative voice for parents and guardians by advising the school principal and staff on perspectives related to school programs, policies, plans, and activities. The PAC also assists parents and guardians in navigating the school system, advocates on behalf of students and families, and provides financial support toward PAC-approved goals. In addition, the PAC advises and participates in the work of the District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) and the BC Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils (BCCPAC), ensuring the school community is represented at both district and provincial levels.
